What does a member or volunteer at Hope
need to believe in?
We ask that Hope members
(and those serving in Hope Ministries) find unity in our Statement of Faith found on our “About Us” page.
What does membership mean at Hope Church?
When we commit to being a part of the Hope Church Family, we are committing not only to being a part of a church family but we are also committing to living the Christian life together. So, what does that look like for a member at Hope?
We commit to regularly participating in the life of Hope Church by attending weekly services, joining with others in our discipleship groups, and by giving of our time and finances in and outside of this church. Here are each of the 4 key areas that we commit to practice as we strive to multiply hope in Montgomery County and beyond:
Gather, Group, Go, and Give.
Gather
Members commit to gather to worship together side by side and face to face each week.
We gather to study God’s word together. We gather to experience God’s power and presence together. We gather to practice the ordinances(Communion and Baptism) together. In all of this, we come TOGETHER. We know that to be a church family, we need to be together, and our Sunday worship gathering is a vital part of being a healthy church family. (Acts 2:42–47; Heb. 10:23–25; Titus 3:14).
Group
Members commit to fostering relationships and believe this happens best in smaller gatherings.
These small groups cultivate “mini church families” wherever they gather and foster an environment where we can grow spiritually together while being loving and authentic to each other in all we do. We do this by focusing on 3 primary activities: Fellowship, Biblical Study and Discussion, and mutual support and accountability
(Acts 2:42-47, Heb. 10:23–25).
Go
Members commit to join with God’s calling for Hope Church to Engage the lost through sharing the Gospel, displaying the love of Jesus and building His church.
We are called by God to passionately pursue others outside the walls of our church so they would hear the good news of hope found in the Gospel and experience Jesus’ love. Members commit to do this directly through personal missional engagement as well as through supporting the ministries of people and organizations involved in that mission.
(Matt 9: 37-38, 1 Cor 9:22, Luke 19:10, Rom 10:12-15, Matt 25:35-40)
Give
Members commit to giving our time and our finances generously to help fulfill God’s mission for Hope Church in our church family, community, and around the world.
God created us to serve him and others through our time, talents, spiritual gifts, and finances. This includes regular financial giving, service, and participation in community that is sacrificial, cheerful, and voluntary.
(Matt. 25:14–30; Rom. 12:1–2; 1 Cor 12, 2 Cor. 8–9; 1 Pet. 4:10–11).
